Rev. Anita Stuart-Steva came to Middle Creek in December 2005 bringing with her a variety of gifts and experiences. Anita has a Master of Fine Arts degree in vocal performance from Carnegie-Mellon University where she trained to be an opera singer. She also has a Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Prior to her ordination Anita worked in several churches as a Minister of Music, a Youth Director and a Director of Christian Education. Her love of music, youth, and children is evident in her ministry. She loves to start new ministries wherever she goes. Encouraging people of all ages and abilities to get involved in the life of the church is the driving force in her work. Her motto is "In everything we do, we do it All for Jesus." Anita has a passion for worship. Creative worship experiences abound. Whether it is using drama, audio-visual aids or things to take home as reminders Anita works diligently to make the scriptures and worship come alive. Anita has a love for mission work. Her personal mission trips have taken her to Arizona, Harlem, Europe and Africa. She has also taken groups to Tennessee, Kentucky and Mexico. Groups have been involved in building houses, doing yard work and running Bible Schools. Anita believes God speaks to us in a special way when we are separated from the distractions of every day life. Mission work changes the lives of the missionaries as much as it affects the lives of those served. Anita is married to Patrick Steva, who works as a credit counselor. They have adult children Christopher and Elizabeth. Both Anita and Patrick have dedicated their lives to God’s service and are enjoying the journey of faith together. |
