Music has the power to engage and inspire our worship. At Middle Creek we have been blessed with outstanding music that leads our praise and understanding of God’s love. The Middle Creek Choir of about 20 voices, our organ, grand piano, and regular soloists anchor our music ministries.
Provides the musical leadership at our 10:20 Sunday service, our traditional worship service. Typically, the choir sings one anthems, related to the message for the day. In addition, it may also offer chorale opening or closing to the service and sing responses to other elements of the service. In addition, we have a lot of fun!
Every year the choir prepares at least two special musical offerings, either as an enhancement to worship or as a special concert. Singers interested in joining should contact the director or the church office.
Rehearsal: Wednesday nights, 7:15 to 8:30 pm. (September to May)
Bell Choir
The Bell Choir is a 4-octave handbell choir using Schulmerich Handbells. The current director is Gayle Clikeman. The bell choir rehearses Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. They contribute special music to the worship services on the second Sunday of each month.
We welcome new members. Our only requirement is that you have a desire to belong to this dedicated group, and that you have knowledge of music. You may contact the director by leaving a message at the church office.
Guitar Group
In 2005, the Middle Creek Guitar Group was created. They perform the first Sunday of each month. They have become a wonderful part of our worship service. All levels of guitarist are encouraged to join our group. The group meets at the Middle House on Wednesday evening at 6:00.
In 2005, the Middle Creek Youth Praise Team was begun. This group performs various contemporary songs for the worship service. In addition to vocalists, the team includes guitar, percussion, piano and other instruments.
Children's Choir
The children of our congregation participate in praising God by singing. Children practice before the Sunday School hour and sing praises at the morning worship service.
We have an active music ministry for all ages and abilities, and believe that all of our choirs and ensembles should have as their practical goal the leading of worship. Our children and youth choirs take part in worship almost weekly. Handbell choir, both adult and intergenerational, contribute to worship monthly.
